Our Facility

Nestled in the farming community of Tumalo, Oregon, our facility offers a unique blend of thoughtful design and practical functionality, set against panoramic Central Oregon mountain views. Located on the Young family farm and easily accessible from Bend, Redmond, Sisters, and surrounding areas, we’ve created a space that reflects both our roots and our purpose.

Purpose-Built for Equine Movement & Evaluation

Every aspect of the facility is intentionally designed to support accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and the overall performance of the horse. Under the direction of Dr. Patrick Young, our approach combines advanced veterinary care with a deep understanding of how horses move, perform, and recover—delivering care that is both precise and practical.

On-Site Office

Our on-site office serves as the central hub for daily operations, patient management, and behind-the-scenes coordination. From detailed medical record keeping to client communication, our team ensures accuracy, continuity, and efficiency at every step. We also process a range of diagnostic lab work in-house—including CBC, chemistry panels, eACTH, insulin, and kidney function testing—allowing for timely results and more informed treatment decisions to keep your horse’s care moving forward without delay.

Horse round pen with soft footing

Round Pen with Soft Footing

Our round pen serves as the starting point for evaluating each horse’s movement. With carefully maintained soft footing, it provides a controlled, low-impact environment to observe baseline way of going, warm up the horse, and begin identifying potential concerns. This initial step allows us to assess joint and soft tissue response and isolate potential issues on forgiving ground before progressing to evaluation on more firm surfaces.

Large Area for Hard-Ground Assessment and Flexions

Following initial evaluation in the round pen, horses are moved to our large, dedicated hard-ground area for further assessment. Firm footing is critical for identifying subtle lameness and performance issues that may not be apparent on softer surfaces. This space also allows for flexion testing and more detailed observation of movement under higher-impact conditions.

Spacious, horse trailer-friendly parking

Indoor Arena

Our indoor arena is used for evaluating movement when weather conditions prevent outdoor assessment. It provides a consistent, covered space that allows us to continue working horses and observing movement without interruption.

On-Site Veterinary Treatment Room

Our on-site treatment room, located within the barn, provides a safe and efficient space for hands-on veterinary care. The layout supports a range of procedures while keeping horses comfortable and secure, allowing us to move seamlessly from evaluation to treatment.

7 stall horse barn

7 Stall Barn for Patient Care & Drop-Offs

Designed with patient care in mind, our seven-stall barn provides a secure and comfortable environment for horses requiring observation, treatment, or extended stays throughout the day. It also offers flexibility for client drop-offs, allowing us to deliver attentive, continuous care when more in-depth evaluation or treatment is needed.

Spacious, horse trailer friendly parking

Spacious, Trailer-Friendly Parking

Our large, trailer-friendly parking area offers easy access and plenty of space for trucks and horse trailers to maneuver, park, and unload safely. It’s built to make hauling in and out simple and efficient.
